What Must I Do To Be Saved?

FROM: 11/7/04  Radio Program

Question:

When Christ was on the cross and said “My God, My God why hast thou forsaken me?” what language was He speaking? Was this an unknown tongue?

Answer:

The verses where Jesus said this is found in Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34 (both parallel passages).

Jesus was quoting Psalm 22:1 (written in Hebrew), yet the language Jesus spoke on the cross was Aramaic, not some kind of “unknown” tongue.
